Solar Island Technology (SIT) Ltd.
We have formed a Swiss, German and New Zealand team with Tongan family roots and experience in both Tongan government and investment activities to bundle our know how, energy and funds to promote and operate a solar energy production in the private sector, focusing on small-medium enterprises and institutions.
SIT is open for everybody who is interested in sustainable projects, who wants to have full transparency and reliability and finally who wants to support and not just donate.
The SIT project is backed and approved by two Swiss Foundations and by PlanetSolar http://www.planetsolar.org.

SIT wants to improve the energy and consequently the economic situation of the Tongan citizens, organizations and companies
with an alternative solar source for energy, which can even generate the locally needed income.
Our Aim
SIT's goal is to use European knowledge and technology along with Swiss and New Zealand management
skills to plan, organize and implement solar installations in Tonga.
The aim being to provide self-sufficient energy systems which generate environmental and economic benefits for local families, institutions
and companies.

Our Team works closely with Tonga Power and local businesses to understand policy and the local
electricity market.
We have strong technical experience and knowledge of solar energy and have a long history of business within the Tongan community.
